Health & Human Flourishing

Bringing together scholars from leading universities, this program facilitates inquiry into the moral foundations of medicine and biotechnology. This work is conducted on the premise that human beings are integrated wholes whose dimensions—physical, psychological, rational, volitional, emotional, moral—cannot be properly understood in isolation from each other.

“This active self-integration of life alone gives substance to the term ‘individual’: it alone yields the ontological concept of an individual as against a merely phenomenological one.” ~Hans Jonas
