Description
Co-sponsored by the Zephyr Institute and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy, this one week seminar for university students and recent graduates—especially for those who have studied the liberal arts—introduced the art of story, told through film. Participants learned from internationally successful entertainment professionals about the craft of film and ways this particular art form can engage questions of human flourishing and the common good. Participants also received an introduction to basic skills key to a career in the entertainment industry.
Seminar leader:
Prof. Armando Fumagalli, Professor of Semiotics and Director of the Master's degree program in International Screenwriting and Production at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy. He has been a script consultant for many international TV miniseries such as John Paul II (with CBS, starring Jon Voight) and the European 4 episode miniseries War and Peace.
Seminar main instructor:
Prof. Bobette Buster, Lecturer at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts; lecturer and script consultant for high ranking companies including Pixar Animation Studios, Disney Animation, Sony Animation, 20th Century Fox, French National School of Cinema La Fémis and many European programs of training for professionals.
