Description

The Zephyr Institute’s Ethics Reading Group is a new series for undergraduates and recent graduates that meets periodically throughout the semester. We will read and discuss a range of short texts in moral philosophy and the history of ethics, with a particular emphasis on neglected questions and thinkers. Our goal will be to read the text with an eye both to its theoretical insights and to its practical lessons. Readings will center around a different theme each semester; the readings for Fall 2021 will focus on Elizabeth Anscombe’s critique of 20th century moral philosophy.

Led by Molly Gurdon Pinkoski, the reading group during the Fall 2021 semester will run from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. on October 4, October 18, November 1, and November 15. Drinks and snacks will be served. PDFs of the readings will be circulated to registered participants; no prior study of philosophy is necessary, but please come having read the assigned text.
