Description

There is a widespread sense in the United States today that democracy's future is uncertain. Will it survive, and thrive, in the coming decades? If so, what will it look like? This discussion series tackles four challenges facing democracy today: the meaning of free speech, political engagement, economic and political inequality, and the power of corporations. The question mark in the title of this discussion series is intentional: these are challenges to which no one, including professional political writers and political scientists, has full and complete answers. But they’re questions that all of us face in our daily lives as members of political communities. These discussions, open to all viewpoints and all ideas, are about moving the conversation forward on democracy's next steps.
