About the Event
Medical practitioners enter the profession with a desire to do good—to heal, but they inhabit a system that increasingly treats them as mere “providers” who must pursue ends that are desired by patients or required by third parties whether or not doing so is consistent with the practitioner’s judgment about what their profession to heal requires.
From noon on June 6 through noon on June 7, the Zephyr Institute and TalentED Ventures will host a gathering to consider how a proposed new association—the Society of Just Medicine (SJM)—might help to reverse this trend, offering a public association of practitioners who are committed to fulfilling their healing profession, and who, in service to that end, promote fair, serious, and open debate about the full range of questions that confront practitioners in our time.
