KERI BRENNER

Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine

Keri Brenner, MD, MPA is a palliative care physician and a psychiatrist.  She is an assistant professor at Stanford University School of Medicine and also serves as a psychiatric palliative care consultant for Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital.  Dr. Brenner’s scholarly interests focus on patients’ psychological coping with serious illness, especially psychodynamic and existential issues at the end of life.  Dr. Brenner completed her medical degree at Yale School of Medicine, where she received honors for her thesis on the phenomenology of suffering with terminal illness.  She also has a Master in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School.  Dr. Brenner trained in adult psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and palliative care fellowship at Harvard.  Her clinical work includes inpatient palliative care consults and psychotherapy for patients with life-limiting illness.  She enjoys traveling and family time with her husband and two sons (3 y/o and 1 y/o).
